I swear there were times when the rain seemed to fall horizontally. It was really cold and it was certainly very wet, and this was echoed somewhat by the recital of the Christmas carol ‘In the bleak midwinter’ by one of the little bride’s maids. But there was nothing bleak about Laura and Rich’s wedding. This may seem like an understatement, but Laura and Rich are two of the nicest people. They come across as two of life’s good guys. From what I could see, Laura is a bright, sociable and good looking person, and Rich, a good looking chap who is every bit a gentleman. They say that ‘like attracts like’ and this seems to be the case for Laura and Rich in terms of their friends and family – lovely people. No, the rain didn’t dampen the atmosphere which was fantastic. Laura and Rich, you both looked stunning and I loved every minute of your wedding (and of course, I’d love to hear more about ‘fireman incident No 1’ and ‘Fireman Incident No 2’).
I just wanted to take the time this very busy morning to wish you all a very merry christmas.
I had a lovely time yesterday evening photographing Rachel and Dave’s wedding reception in Clawddnewydd. You’ll remember Rachel and Dave from the recent pre-wedding photography session posted recently on this blog. They were married in Lapland and asked me to photograph the people they were unable to have photographs with at their wedding.
Another FREEZING cold day, Clawddnewydd was shrouded in snow but because it was an evening event we were unable to have photographs outside. With most of the space taken up by people having a great time, it was a case of ‘backs to the wall’ in more ways than one with the photography. It’s great what you can do with some small lights and a magnolia wall, and of course some amazing people. There was no room for a backdrop (which I ended up using as a partition). With a small studio set up, it was more akin to event photography. Here are some of their pictures:
For some, it was just another cold December’s day, but not for those who attended Gina and Chris’ wedding at Ruthin Castle. I’m not just talking about the mild weather, but the warmth and the kindness of the people I met. It’s obvious that Gina and Chris were just made for each other; it’s obvious that their friends and family love them very much. It was a small wedding but one with a big heart. Gina and Chris are a lovely couple. Thank you for asking me to photograph your wedding. It was a privilage mixing with such lovely people. You looked amazing!
